seat belt warning switch
So I've been troubleshooting all the little issues with my 77 f150 and my seat belt light in the cluster does not light, so tracing all the wires I find the harness end that is suppose to plug into the warning buzzer and there is nothing plugged into it, thus explaining why it does not light up, Now I know through reading that most found the buzzer annoying so they unplugged them and tossed them.....I know it's an obsolete part as well, but I want to get everything working as factory had it..................So where can I find one of these warnings witches/buzzers? also anyone have a pic of what they looked like originally?

Some dealers are reasonable on their obsolete parts sometimes charging their cost or less or the last list, but some dealers (Bob Allen) really rip you on obsolete parts, especially when they know they have the last one.
Obsolete parts dealers are generally more expensive than it would be from a dealer, that's their business, that's how they make money.
Shop around.

Bob Allen actually has three of these but I left them off the list because they are such a rip on parts prices.
If you do want the part, I would call Burns or Soeby, they are "just" dealers and don't really push obsolete parts.
The thing with obsolete parts is, they can no longer be returned to Ford and have been sitting on the shelf for years. The dealer has three choices: scrap them, sell them to another dealer or obsolete parts supplier, or let them sit on the shelf until someone does want it.
The cost of these parts was written off years ago and anything that the dealer gets for it is 100% profit.
I've had cases where the part had been on the shelf so long the dealer had no clue what to charge for the part and one time a dealer asked me what it was worth! I was honest and offered him what I felt was a fair price and thats what I paid for it.
When it comes to obsolete parts, it pays to shop around.

The little mellow buzz from that thing gives the truck a vintage feel as you don't hear that kind of sound from vehicles anymore. It's also not super loud and does not stay on long. If you think it's annoying, try getting in some newer caddilac suv's. It beeps (absurd tone) through the speakers VERY loudly to the point of having to cup your ears.

Mine still works and its been chopped all up and turned into a rockcrawler, no restoration for it, LOL. If you buckle up before you turn the key it won't buzz. If you buckle up while it's buzzing the buzzer stops but the light stays on. You can also unplug the buckle itself to stop the buzz but leave the light working. I think it's pretty neat myself though just one more little thing that still works.

This is exactly what occurred in 1974: Passenger Cars had to have a seat belt interlock switch which was mandated by the Feds. Some people buckled the belt, then sat on it.
Within a short time, this interlock switch was such a PITA, it was cancelled by the Feds, so the little charmers could then be disabled.
