Need advice

Are the wires in question DG/W or DG/Y? The former is for the speed control, the latter goes to the tach from the ignition. BK/LG is the ground to make the tach count 8 pulses per rev, and any BK wire is a ground - and there are lots of them so there's no way to know what it is for unless you trace it to its connector and see what pin it goes into.

So I can in fact do away with that connector as well since it is for the speed control.

You need to find Connector 727 in the documentation to see which connector that (the speed sensor connector) is and what it looks like.
That connector in your hand shown above looks an awful lot like the tachometer connector but I could be wrong; after all, I don't have any context as to its location and all I see is a few inches of wire and a connector with no real idea from where it came.

Page 137 says C727 is above the speed sensor, which is basically against the firewall on the far left/driver's side. And it is gray with two connections.
Page 26 shows C323 as connecting the primary ignition wires, inc the tach ones, and Page 31 says that is at the ignition module and has 4 pins.
So, the 6-pinner he's holding is neither of those.

Starter solenoid
Ok I am having a brain function problem. I am putting my truck back together and right now am hooking the starter solenoid up and for the life of me do not remember which wires go where. The wires in question are the 2 visible links. Before the link one is yellow and the other wire looks to be black/lt brown. Black/Brown is in the harness that goes to the alternator and the other goes to the drivers firewall. I believe it goes to the fuel pump relay.

Thanks for the reply. I had figured it out. I just wanted to make sure before I burned something up.

So hopefully won't need to add to this post anymore but will still be able to use it for reference but I wanted to post a picture of my truck as she sits now.
She is not done by any means but it is getting there. Still have lots to do but I am proud of how it has turned out so far. Thanks to all who have given advice and especially Gary who has endured this trek with me and all my questions.
