Hi, I need to know if a '73 300 (4.9L) 6cyl will fit an '83. They are both f-250. Thanks...

Thanks, the mounts, and the bolt locations are throwing me off. I wanted to use the duraspark dist, I'm pretty sure it'll fit, but still kinda unsure...

You will need to use the 83 mounts, oil pan and pickup. The Duraspark dizzy will drop in.

That's what's puzzling me, the bottom 2 bolt spread is different. The '73 is closer together...

Bolt spread on the engine mount? You are going to use 83 mounts correct?

The 300 block should be the same, so work from there using 83 parts down to the 83 frame.

Hi, I thought every thing was all lined up, then I noticed the dip stick. The '73 is in front of the dist, the '83 is behind the oil filter. Jeez, now what?

Don't use the timing cover stick and plug the hole.

Not sure if the 83 will still be stick in pan. You may need an 82 back rear sump pan.

No 1973 anything came with DuraSpark electronic ignition.

DuraSpark introduced in 1974, but not all vehicles came with it until 1976.

The module used in 1974...is 1974 only / The module used in 1975...is 1975 only.

DuraSpark ignition modules are identified by a colored plastic square located above where the wires feed out.
