After getting frank-n-truck assembled, fired right up. Problem being that the alternator won't turn on unless I run a jumper wire from the battery to the alternator harness on one of the pins (can't remember which wire but it was the right one. Ignitor wire?). Problem is that I have to leave it jumped when running and unplug it when I shut it off to prevent burning up the alternator regulator. Now I went through all the oem harness when I did the install and it's in good shape. So what other areas do I need to look at that could be commonly problematic?

 

Key in, engine off, does the charging system failure warning light (battery icon) come on? If not, check that bulb; if it's burned out or absent, it can prevent the alternator from charging.
