Aren't you supposed to end up moving the oil sender in a turbo setup? I thought the sender gets in the way?

You can see in that hypermax setup they slightly relocated it by laying it sideways.

It's not seen in the ATS shot, but it's still in the factory location IIRC. And I do think I'm recalling correctly since I had to replace the thing right after installing the engine. Not fun.

Factory ATS draws oil from the same location at the back of the engine. The pressure sender is relocated to the top of the turbo where it tees off some fancy fitting Ford made.

Aftermarket ATS draws oil from the right most port (back of the engine) in the picture that dtgl90vt posted (it is at the right edge of the picture). The oil runs up a tube to a 90 elbow at the top of the turbo. The stock pressure sender is still used.

Another pic/thread for reference. This stupid 1/8" pipe plug is a pain in the ***. 1/4 square plug.

Just for a heads up to those reading this thread, save your self some time and order this set.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I haven't got it yet so I can't speak to the usefulness of it, but I would estimate the 1/8" pipe plugs really have a 9/32 head, a 1/4 doesn't fit, and a 5/16 slips.

We tried making a tool to remove the 9/16 coolant plug, took a old 3/8 drive socket, cut the head off a 9/16 wrench and welded it to the socket, even added a 4th side to the wrench to reinforce it. Alas, it ripped apart under the torque.

Anyway, i'll check in after I try the new sockets.

Cheers,
Devin

Yeah, your right. I missed that, I saw the 9/32 but forgot about the 9/16. Ordering this set now, https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002GT5VPM/ref=ya_st_dp_summary

Tools, tools, gotta have more tools.

You can never have too many tools! They help more then they hinder; which you can't say about many things.

Is this a port? Coolant or oil? I tried the port to the left, right on the other side of the oil cooler, but the sender kept hitting and I couldn't thread it in. I was able to place one sensor on the port further back. If I have to, my plan is to remove the former, and add a pipe nipple to clear the obstacle. If this plug though in the picture is a candidate I'll take it.

I know my earlier post may have not made much sense so I decided to add another picture. Still haven't figured out what that other port is though, I'm at work now so if I don't figure it out before I go home, I guess I'm just gonna let her loose and find out.

Thanks Again,
Devin

This is the plug I could not thread the sensor in because its housing was rubbing on the filter header.

And the port next to the Y-pipe.
