Adding some power back

So I have been working with my tuner getting my supercharged V10 tuned.

I have been looking at the logs I have sent tuner, so he can adjust tune.

1st free rev log I noticed a 3.75 reading on knock sensor starting at about 2500 rpm. Timing was retarded significantly at same time knock detected.

2nd free rev log with an adjustment done on tune max knock was about .75 and did not show up till 3000 rpm.

So for you guys that have older loud motors....IE a noisy timing chain, or maybe a lifter that is making some racket.
The PCM could be pulling substantial amounts of timing as it thinks the noise is detenation.

My engine is not noisy so I guess the larger maf, injectors, and supercharger needed dialed in to remove the false knock....what ever he did worked.

So moral of the story is if you know you don't have real detonation and just have other items making noise, unbolt knock sensor, wrap with a rag and bind with some tape.

Then drive it to see if you get 20 to 40 hp back. If not reconnect knock sensor and drive normally. Or you could use a scanner and log knock to see if you are having a issue.
