Looking for new fog lights. Morimoto, Luminix, Rigid, or other?

Hi all,

I am looking at replacing my fog lights and would like feedback on several options. One of the first things I did when I first bought my truck was replace the halogens with Putco LEDs, but it's time for a change.

My wants are:
Blacked out look to match factory HIDs
Same color as factory HIDs
Plug and Play
Quality

Morimoto XB - Like the blacked out look. Looking for some feedback from owners of these.

Luminix - Not sure about the look. Anyone have these? Any feedback?

Rigid - I know these would be the brightest of the bunch but not sure about the chrome square in a round hole and everything else is blacked out. I may change my mind if I can mount two more in the center bumper opening to match.

Other - Feels free to recommend something else.

Thanks in advance.

I have the Rigid SAE fogs. Love them. Square peg and round hole but it's totally worth it. I've been running them about 18 months.

This output is fogs only...no heads...and I've aimed then up slightly since this photo.

I've had the Morimoto fogs on my truck since November. Output is way better then stock and has a nice sharp cut off. They are not as bright as the Rigids but they are a huge improvement. Plus they look awesome being all blacked out when not on.

McDavis,

Did you use the rigid brackets and which lights did you use. There are several on their site. Were they plug and play?

AlaskanEx,

I heard the wires going into the unit didn't seem very weatherproof. Have you seen any issues there?

Thanks.

No. I custom mounted them in a set of opened fog lights. Retains the ability to aim them via the screw.
I bought The SAE Duallys about a month after their release in early 2015. At that time they were claimed to be "DOT approved" but they have since come off that statement.

Thanks.
I did use better connectors I had from a drop in LED kit then those supplied. I used shrink butt connectors to tie them together and die-electric grease. No issues since install back in November 2015.
