Seattle area meet up, July 17th

Updated:
Dick's Drive In, 2pm July 17th (Sunday)

Map with Location

It's on Highway 99, next to a Starbucks. Fair amount of area for people. Pretty easy to get to from many different ways and a common place to meet up.

I won't be able to bring my truck this time around, and I know a few others won't be able to either, so if you can bring it, if not just show up and say hey. I don't mind doing more of these if everyone can't make it this time.

Old:
Realized I don't know too many builders out here in Seattle, figured it's about time to change that. Posted in the regional forum but I'd really like to meet other builders.

Anyone up for a meet up? Don't need to be able to have your project on the road (mine isn't going anywhere just yet, but maybe the Mustang).

No idea when or where just yet, just seeing if anyone is interested. Be hopefully in the north Seattle / Everett area.

I'm a bit further south in Lewis County, but I'm always up for meeting fellow gearheads. Not sure if the '53 is up for that kind of road trip, but you never know...maybe after some new tires!

Looks like we might have to do this more than once then

Any ideas on where to meet up? All the places I know are more motorcycle orientated.

The Bremerton airport has a nice restaurant and lots of parking. It hosts some informal hot-rodders meetings that I've been to.

Maybe you can get GBSisson off Orca Island with one of his great working trucks.

So we looking to do one big meet up or have a couple smaller ones closer to groups of people before hand? My truck annoyingly won't be able to join in yet (I'm aware the irony that I'm looking to set this up yet can't bring my own truck).

Nielsen's Pastries, they have some amazing Danish, especially if you get it fresh out of the oven. Ivar's Salmon House has a pretty neat 'under the bridge' view to it. Pike's Market is an interesting place (be prepared for lots of people)

As someone who has spent over 20 years living in Seattle proper, I'd suggest anywhere BUT the city itself to meet up. Way too much traffic and too many people to find a spot where we can hang and admire our rides without fighting for space.

I'll second that. Especially with "Big Bertha" tunneling under the city, and the Sea Wall Project underway, there are just too many detours and closed roads. There are better areas like Ballard, U-District, etc.

I'd say anything in the Seattle neighborhoods is out. Ballard is a crowded mess, especially in good weather, because everyone is outside. And the U-Dist? Even worse...just try to find parking. You show up with 5 or 7 or 10 guys and their rides, and it's going to be a major hassle.

Id' say somewhere either north (Shoreline, Edmonds, Lynnwood) or south (Auburn, Federal Way, Tukwila) of the city would be much better. It's still going to be crowded on a nice day, but nothing like getting into and out of Seattle.

That's just my 2 cents. Remember, I moved south of Olympia for a reason...
