Hey guys, so i bought this 1989 F150 4x4 with a 302 5.0L but there was a hole in the #8 piston. Bought a 5.0L from a 1996 F150 and put it in,

took the wiring harness from the 89 and put it on the 96 motor so everything wired up, switched the distributor from the the 89 motor to the 96 motor, now it wont start, i have pressure to the fuel rails and i have spark but it seems like the injectors arent firing. Did i miss something? Any help would be great.

 

Did you just stick the distributor in ***** nilly or did you make sure the engine was at TDC on the compression stroke on cylinder #1 first?

Did that then double checked it to make sure

 

So do you know if the old motor ran?
Have you tried advancing the distributor while cranking, if you're a tooth off sometimes the dizzy needs quite a twist before the engine will fire.

Foud a ground wire off, its running now. But its running super rich so im dealing woth that now
