can movies on a phone be watched via dvd auxiliary jacks?

I bought my excursion with a dvd tuck in it and would like to play movies while I figure out how to get out the stuck dvd (and fix the sticking problem)

Yup. As long as you have the proper cord to hook up your phone.

They used to make adapters for the old iPods to allow RCA hookups. Otherwise if you're talking simple auxiliary cord, no - that's a data out feed on most phones for audio only.

Yea I bought an old iphone4s 64gb just so I could watch movies, netflix, amazon etc on the factory dvd system. Apple makes a cord with the 30pin connector and rca's. But It wont work with the newer lightning plug, it is audio only.

Also if you are planning on buying this adapter, just buy the apple one, a lot of the aftermarket plugs are'nt true 30pin plugs and you'll only get audio on the 30pin apple plug.

I doubt it, i think you'll be stuck with apple only. There maybe a cord for the non-apple products...i dont know. Remember your looking for the bigflat apple plug that was used up until the iphone 5. Good luck.

Thanks for the answers but I hardly understand the Wi-Fi terminology. Is that to be used when you pull up in a parking lot of some place that has Wi-Fi? You don't get it rolling down the road do you?

How about just using Bluetooth or even a cable from my Android to the auxiliary jacks? Would you please put links to what I would need to get an Amazon to run a cable from my phone to the DVD Jacks and watch a movie that way? I am really illiterate when it comes to this stuff

Each other these require USB power, I hard wired a few 12 volt to USB cables for them. The wireless adapter plugs into the HDMI to RCA converter, which plugs into you RCA jacks. You mirror your phone to the wireless adapter (screen cast) and what's on your phone will be on the screen. You use it going down the road, the WIFI part is just to connect your phone to the wireless adapter. Hulu, youtube, Amazon prime all work. Netflix is glitchy, but other adapters like the chore cast or the fire adapter may work better.
