05 6.0 shuts off while driving, restarts in one hour
Ok gents thinking caps on please!
I have read a lot of posts that are similar to mine. I have a 2005 f-350 6.0 with 90 hp injectors, large htt turbo, egr/oil cooler delete, edge monitoring display, and sct programmer. I am fairly new to diesels but understand a lot more than a newb. What is going on with mine is similar to what others are having. I am driving down the road in heavy traffic and it dies like I shut it off, restarts 2 maybe 3 times then will not restart for half to a full hour. When it restarts it runs like a champ. After a hard pull (8 to 10k) if it idles to long it shuts off and will not restart for half to full hour. This weekend knowing all this I preemptively shut it off after pulling my trailer, went to restart and nothing. One hour later fired off and runs great. I have even had it shut off in traffic waited a half hour, fired it off and drove in heavy traffic for 2 more hours and runs great. I thought it was a few different things so I set my pid’s to monitor ICP pressure, ICP voltage, FICM, IPW, and here is what I get.
ICP pressure, starts at 800 and drops to steady 650
ICP voltage steady .9v
FICM v. steady 48
IPW injector pulse width. 0.0
I am thinking IPR, stc seal, or ? I never throw any DTC and everything works great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
