Oil pressure gauge and Oil light
After changing my oil recently I noticed The oil pressure gauge and the light seemed to take longer than normal. Yes I know right after an oil change when it is 1st cranked it takes few seconds for oil to reach snesors.
But this is after truck had been warmed up and all oil levels are fine.
Even now everytime i crank my truck the gauge takes 2 to 3 seconds to come up and the light goes off 3 to 4 seconds after that.
I wonder is that delay normal or could it be a sign of sending unit going bad or worse the oil pump going bad??
Could be perfectly normal?? Just not sure.
Thanks in advance.

Did you change oil type?
Mine fires before the gauge shows pressure. Never measured the time but similar to yours.
Sometimes things like that get under your skin tho, and in that case I'd get a real gauge on there and see the real pressure. I assume the dash gauge is like the others, calibrated to keep you away from the warranty work at the dealer. Real numbers are the best way to put the doubts to rest.
