New Tire Thoughts for 2016 F250
I have a 2016 F250 XLT CC SB 4X4 Tuxedo with the 18" wheels and Michelin LT275/70 18 LTX AT2 stock tires. For around town and summer driving the tires have been great, but I would like a little more tread/grip come Late fall hunting season and winter here in Idaho.
I do want to go up in size as these fords have too much wheel well space that needs to be filled up. Currently looking at LT 285/75/18 Toyo AT 2. on the stock 18x8 wheels. I do believe these are 35" tires. Would these clear and be good to go on stock rims? There is no budget for aftermarket wheels on this purchase. Any other suggested sizes or comparable tires to look at?

I used to have those 285 toyo at2's on my stock wheels, they ain't cheap. Like 1300 bucks or more for a set. You say wheels aren't in the budget, but if you go with a wider set wheels you can buy a more common tire size for less. You could get tires for a couple hundred less and wheels would only be a couple hundred outside of what you would have spent on 285's. Then you can sell the stock wheels and be even less into new wheels and tires than you would have been on just tires alone.
That's what I did this last time around. I was sick of being stuck to 2-3 tire sizes. Sold my stock rims with the at2's on them with about 65% tread for 600 bucks, and got wheels and tires for 1500. So real net cost of 900 was actually cheaper than a set of tires would have been. Now I have a 9" wide wheel, I can buy any tire I want.

I just had 35x12.5 BFG KO2’s installed on my stock 2015 f250. I have the camper package and snow plow package, so it’s got the factory level in the front. They’re on the factory 18” rims. No issues at all with rubbing, lots of room. I didn’t notice any real difference with acceleration or power, very slight if any. I did notice a surprisingly big improvement on ride quality-The taller sidewalls absorb the potholes and road joints a lot better. That and they look sweet!
