1999 7.3l EGT probe
What is the best location to mount the EGT probe in the exhaust manfold and what side of the engine to use.

I mounted mine at the bottom rear part of the drivers manifold. You've got a straight shot at it so you cand drill and tap, lying on your back.

This is where most mount it. It is the easiest location to access, and it gives very accurate readings since it is close to the cylinders.

You can also have two pyros if desired, to see if both banks are consistent.

And when running the tap do not run the tap all the way in or the hole will end up too big, that's a tapered tap/hole. I'd say try 1/2 way first and see how it works, if you need more add a turn or two.
