24in rims.. yes or no

It's killing me to put rims on the X, but I'm trying to be reasonable with my spending since I have a wedding in October and spent a ton with my parts list for the 2011 front end conversion. If I get these rims, I would need to purchase a lift and tires, which will be costly. I have personally looked at the rims with them still on the truck and I did not see any issues. He texted me yesterday to tell me that he's dropped the price to $700 after I had talked him down to $800. Or...I could wait and just let them sit in the garage until I'm ready for get a lift and tires. I really need some advice, because I'm infected with the Mod bug.

Gonna be expensive to lift to clear 40's. By the time you spend the money to make them fit they're not such a good deal anymore. Just something to consider.

24" tires in an E range that have some meat on them (not rubber bands) are NOT cheap. I'd skip and stay reasonable... Plus they're pretty fugly.

Thanks guys, that's what I needed to hear. My thinking was to purchase OK rims with the tire I would want to keep until I was in the position to get the rims I really wanted. And I know that the bigger the rim, the more expensive the tire would cost. Thanks for keeping me ground. It's truly a addiction.

Actually the man came down to $700, that's why I was needing help with my decision. I'm just tired of riding around with my stock 16s and I could somewhere to spend the $700 besides rims.

I seriously doubt I'm going to do it, because then I'm spending more money to make it work..ie lift and tires. If you was to go to 24s...to make everything look uniform with having big rims and tires, do you go big on the lift too? Maybe a 7in lift?

I know some people put rims and sound systems in as soon as they buy any vehicle. I guess I am old, I don't care about boom boom radios and fancy wheels. I don't hate on others decisions though.

Is the entire vehicle clean and safe and well maintained? That is the only time I would then ask, whatshould I spend my fun money on now? I just bought a generator and cords for ~$1000 last weekend. I would much rather have a p938 in my pocket than the generator in the garage (at least until the next power outage). But just decide if it is an actual priority vs something you are just fixated on for the moment.

I think you are going the right direction with the surrounding expense and troubles that will come with getting it all done.
