no horn or cruise blown fuse 37 troubleshoooting help.
hey guys. haven't driven my truck in a few weeks. took it out yesterday and the cruise didn't work. when i parked and locked it i noticed the horn didn't honk upon hitting the lock on the fob. tried the horn when i got back in and nothing. found fuse 37 (i believe that's the horn) blown. i do not have any lights on (airbag etc.) i replaced the fuse and it blew immediately. short somewhere i guess. reading clock spring or short in the horn. what are my next steps? was thinking unplug the horn replace fuse and see if fuse blows? if that's a solid plan where is the horn at? i found some info under the battery but i don't see anything under the battery? if not the horn then i'd guess clock spring?
any help appreciated.
thanks

Do any recent work on the driver's side of the engine bay?
I had to pull my blower motor, which involves pulling the cruise control module.
Since it was cold and rainy, I figured I'd put the cruise control module in later. I just left it on the passenger seat. (I leave lots of half finished projects all over.)
Later, in traffic, someone wasn't moving... I hit the horn, nothing. I figured the horn switch went out, as I do have to lean on the wheel to hit the horn.
Nope... The horn is wired through the cruise control module.

The horn is somewhere up in the front of the engine compartment or in front of the radiator on the passenger side.

The ground for the horn switch indeed does go through the speed control module. However, if the module is disconnected, neither the horn nor the speed control will work, but it won't blow any fuses.
Impossible to know since we have no way of knowing exactly was done. However, if this issue surfaced immediately after that work was done, then the new work is definitely suspect.
The horn is somewhere up in the front of the engine compartment or in front of the radiator on the passenger side. Instead of worrying about it first, pull the horn relay and see if the short circuit goes away or not.

Thanks for reply. Radio is still pumping. It's aftermarket tho...not sure if that matters. And I do not have factory steering wheel controls.
