Question about headliner kits:

I found this one online for $159:
http://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/fordp...01C-8151968-BL

MAC's has this one for $259:
http://www.macsautoparts.com/store/p...l?options=cart

Does anyone have any experience with either? Is the one at MAC's noticeably better than the other? Is there a better option than one of these two? I don't mind spending a little more money for better quality, but don't want to waste money either.

I think both options have the same materials, however the MAC's kit includes the door windlace which you will need.

Oh ok. Thanks!

Is one of these kits going to be my best bet, or do most people get one done custom?

These kits are good for the money. They are like the original material. There is also a fiberglass version available. You could check around for that. I am happy with the cardboard version. A custom interior depends on how much whip out you have.

I couldn't get through the connections of the links so I can't see the headliners you are referring to, but a while ago when I was looking for a headliner for a 46' the price of the headliners were a little high in my opinion, but I was willing to pay the purchase price until I saw what the shipping costs were going to be because of the size, that's something you might want to look into to help with your decision. I ended up making one myself.

try dennis carpenter, he has some flat rate shipping deals but i am not sure if it will apply to an oversize item.

headliner kits

Macs is better and comes in the correct colors. I have purchased mine from Le Bonney Barron in the past also. You may want to line the backs of the kick panels with more board for stiffness so they do not curl in humid conditions.

I bought the MAC's kit. It has everything in it which is exactly what I needed. It still sits in the box downstairs and hasn't been installed due to life in general. I got it on sale a few years ago and planned ahead. Now if I can find some time to work on the truck this year...

Keep in mind Mac's get that stuff somewhere else, might be good, might not. I got carpet on sale from them a few years ago for a 64 Ford car. It sat outside for about a month and all the color bleached out of the carpet where the sun hit it. Mac's reply was they got it from outside vendors and there wasn't anything they could do about it.

It's been a while since I bought some parts from Macs, but they came in Dennis Carpenter boxes and theywere cheaper than I could have bought them from Dennis Carpenter.
