Well, today is a sad day

Not long after I bought my truck, I started having issues with fuel consumption and loss of power. performed a full tune up thinking this is it, no big deal and well have her back on the road. Did the tune up and then I started getting lots of oil coming into the filter housing. After two months of diagnosing and testing, we finally found out the #8 cylinder has no compression, on further inspection with a camera we found there is a hole in the top of the piston, and a sheet metal screw sitting on top of it (Idk how it got there. never had the engine apart since Ive owned it.)

Im going to sell it off as a parts truck- so if anyone in minnesota needs a parts truck shoot me a message here and we can talk. Ill be back to these forums when I get a new ford.

Condolences on your loss. She's moved on to the Happy Hunting Grounds, and you're free to find her replacement.

Why not just replace or fix the engine? Cheaper than buying another, and if the rest of the truck is in good shape, why not?

I agree with ng19delta

Even a rebuild is cheaper than a handful of new truck payments.

A repair costs even less.

I'd rebuild/repair before a new truck/vehicle payment. Especially these vintage trucks. So much potential and fun!!

If I were closer I ask you what you wanted for it so I could swap engines!

I'm in Minneapolis and could use a few trim pieces. I have no need for the whole truck though.
