Transmission Wires Jumped

I've recently purchased a 99 F250 SD 6.8L with an auto trans.
It had a bunch of little stuff that needed to be fixed (locks, sway bar links, spare tire carrier, etc.) as well as a slight piston slap when cold so I got a screaming deal on it. I've got it all fixed up and love it. I've however found something weird that I can't understand. The other day I was under it installing a back up cam to make hooking up my trailer easier and while pulling the wires I noticed someone has cut and jumped two of the transmission wires near the connector. Any ideas why? I'm going to put them back but thought I'd ask before I do.
Also - love this site I've already found tons of helpful info.

Seems everyone here is as lost to why one would jump these wires as I am. Next week I'll put them back to the way they are supposed to be and see what happens.

Theres an old saying...if it aint broke, don't fix it. Might want to go with it on this one. I have no clue what the jumped out wires are for.

Hopefully Mark Kovalsky will chime in on this, our resident transmission guru.

I've googled the crap out of it but can't find any reason. I've gotta know so I'm going to look at the wireing diagrams and see what they are.
