The Viking Edition

Our Stella Olaf is a 75 F-150. The color code is blank. The factory paint
is PURPLE. The local auto paint shop can't find the paint code.
Any suggestions.

The factory paint is PURPLE. The local auto paint shop can't find the paint code (It would be MN Vikings related).
When the Warranty Plate COLOR code is blank, the DSO code has 6 numbers (DSO code: Stamped on the 3rd line-far right of the Warranty Plate).

The first 2 numbers decode to the Ford District Sales Office the dealer ordered the truck from. Could be 44 = Twin Cities MN

The last 4 numbers denote a Domestic Special Order.

No COLOR code on the Warranty Plate: Truck painted a non standard color per the original purchasers order, making it a Domestic Special Order.

It's probably painted Minnesota Vikings purple.

This is the 2nd time someone has had a purple Minnesota Vikings Edition, the other occurred around 8 years ago. I seem to recall that the truck was a 1969 F100.

To get the paint formula, the dealer contacts FoMoCo with the 6 numbered DSO. Ford looks up the number, passes the paint formula back to the dealer.

But now, Ford no longer has the records that cover all 1967/79 FoMoCo vehicles, and I doubt that the person that does (Kevin Marti of martiauto.com)...will have the paint formula.

In the late 1980's, Kevin Marti, a Mustang/Shelby "nut" in Phoenix AZ .. acquired all the 1967/79 FoMoCo records, when he found out that they were going to be THROWN AWAY!

70's F-series Viking Edition

More info. from the Build Sheet of my 75 F-150 Viking Edition:
Special Order 58-1392
Special Paint Option 02
Maaco used a computer to scan the purple inside the cab
to mix the paint for the entire body, box etc.
Perhaps the factory can research with this.
