Looks good. A question if I may. I am familiar with the "Y" blocks (had one in my first car, a '56 Crown Vic) but unfamiliar with the decal. Could you explain it, please?

Thanks!

Great job on the engine. It looks really nice. Good luck in the upcoming show. You should do well.

I painted the 2x8 sideboards red to match the side of the bed on my 55 F350 this past weekend:

Next I have to make a headboard.

I still have to put the weatherstripping on my 54 doors.... Ive been putting that off.

I don't if there is much to explain. The 239 cubic inch and 130 HP which is what I have was called the Power King. The 256 cubic inch with 138 HP was also called the Power King. The 279 with 152 horses and the 317 with 170 horses were called the Cargo King. The 239 was available in the F100 thru the F600 trucks. The 256 was available in the F600 thru the F700 trucks. The 279 was in the F750 and the 317 was in the F800 and F900.

I quite pleased with it. However, I will have to paint the dipstick tube and the road draft canister black.

Also, I think the natural finish paint I used on the manifolds and the crossover pipe is too silver. I think it should be darker. It is almost blends in with the argent valve covers.
can anyone help me I need a water pump for a 239 y block plz!!

Well I have bad news for you. You can't find a water pump for the 239. Is yours too far gone to have it rebuilt?
I sent mine off to a company that rebuilds water pumps and they did a great job. The internal components are standard so any shop that repairs water pumps should be able to do it.
Welcome to FTE, do you have any pictures of your truck and engine?
Maybe someone has found a water pump. I did see a full 239 for sale in Iowa (I think it was a 239.....)

I just Googled “ford y block water pump” and came up with quite a few sources.

Here is but one of the better looking sites:

Funny thing about that site is this: 1954-1964 FORD Y BLOCK 221 227 240 267 292 312 354 WATER PUMP
Most of those displacements are not for a Y Block.
The 239 is a unique beast. It has a high fan mount, they only made that water pump for a year and a half.
Now there is an option to change the timing cover and you can then change to a different y-block water pump.
Cardone lists it on their web site, but they don't have it. It was several years ago, they told me they didn't know when they would get it in. I told them they never would and they should acknowledge it and take it off their web site.
It may be worth a call just to see though. Product Detail

I found the info in my build thread:
J & I Automotive Distributors
1624 State Highway A
Marshfield, MO
800-468-2448

Here is a link to before and after pictures.

The 239 water pump is physically smaller than the rest of the y blocks. Dennis
