Is single gas tank rare?
I have an 87 f150 long bed with a single tank, its the front tank, ive never seen another long bed with a single tank, so i was wondering if it was rare

I would say yes. I've never seen a long bed without dual tank.

Simple, you NEVER see them. And when I mean never I mean extremely seldom. I've seen maybe 2 that I can remember and I honestly thought they were custom jobs.

I bought one accidentally. Needed a box for another truck, never even thought about it till I got it home. Long box, single cab 2wd.

A truck that gets 8 - 15 mpg and only carries 19 gallons of fuel? Yes they were rare. Almost everyone who ordered one was smart enough to get the second tank to get less dismal range between fillups.
