OEM wheel offset question

OEM wheel offset question
I'm thinking of getting new wheels.
I currently have the factory 20's and am looking to go to 18's but in looking around there are a bunch of different offsets....
I'm thinking of having the wheels set out maybe 1/2 - 1" so what offset should I be looking for?
Thanks!

I have King Ranch 20's on my 2004 Excursion but I don't have any idea for sure what the offset is -- I know it took 2" spacers to get them on there -- 1.5 inch would have worked if I was OK cutting 1/2 inch off of my wheel studs so they wouldn't hit the back of the rim.
Sorry I can't help but I did read because I wondered too.

^^^^ thanks Doug!
I went up to the Super Duty sub forum and saw that someone else had started the same type of thread.
According to the thread the factory offset is +44 and it was suggested if you want the wheel pushed out about an inch get an offset between +18-20.
Just in case someone else does a search in the future..
