What is it?

In working under the hood of my '93 F-150 5.0 L V8, I came across a white insulated wire that has broken off from whatever it was connected to. I've included a picture of the wire.


The broken end of the wire is lying on the fender on the left and comes from a wire bundle at the center of the picture.
I'd like to know where I need to re-connect this wire.

That is not a wire, it's a vacuum supply line to the HVAC recirculation actuator mounted on top of the blower housing.

It should be attached like this:

Highly suggest you replace the entire length of it since it is well known to break if you look at it too long.
