You more than likely wouldn't have any power to the truck.
If you're talking about bypassing the fusible link, don't do it. That link is there for a reason.

UPDATE---did a temp splice job on the wires , did another amp test with the Neg cable unhooked, no draw, tested the Alternator posts, got the following results
STA---12.4
FLD---7.5
BAT---14.1...then checked the amps at the other end of this wire, at the Fusible Link end, 0 so I think the Fusible Link is bad ? and can it be purchased at a parts store ?

Yes, you can get it at the parts store. Fusible links are sized by gauge, not amps, so replace it with the same gauge as original.

just went and double checked some things,
Alt light not coming on at start, but comes on when Alternator wire is disconnected,
messed around with the Fusible Link, and got a reading of 13.5, maybe I just need to clean the connections

OK...so after all I did yesterday, I go out this morning to use my truck, and nothing, but dome light was on, so I got my meter out and I'm reading 9.5 Volts...so it appears I've slowed down my drain, because before it was flat out dead after sitting over night, just need to figure out what it is ...could the Voltage Regulator be the culprit ?

It's possible, charge the battery up and unplug the regulator. Let it sit overnight and see what happens. I would check the alternator first though. If a diode shorts, the alternator will still put out but the shorted diode will drain the battery overnight too.

Easiest way is to disconnect the wires and let it sit overnight. An alternator test at the parts store should show a shorted diode but I don't have a lot of faith in the people doing the testing.

mikeo0o0o0...I've been thinking , and shouldn't my truck have at least turned over, or maybe tried, or at least some clicking at 9.5 Volts ??

No. The difference between full charge (12.eight) and Dead, is less than a single volt.

9.5 is shorted cell territory. Best to never let a battery get that low. Charge it up for a couple days at a low rate and let it cook for a while. Auto start batteries will be ruined quick by deep discharge like that.

I agree with Tedster9, at 11 volts you have a dead battery. At 9.5 volts, you won't get anything.

Mike..what about my Alternator question...should I disconnect all three terminal wires from the Alt, BAT, STA, FLD, or just the hot wire?

Disconnect all the wires, leave the alternator installed on the truck try lightly touching the "BAT" wire to the "BAT" terminal, look for a spark. There should be no spark. If there is, the alternator is shorted internally.
