2003 navigator opinions for rear air ride

Hey guys,

I looked on the forum and couldn't find anything pertaining to this question.

If my rear of the truck was jacked up without the suspension switch being shut off put a hole or rip in the rear air bags?

Thanks
Fixit

I can't see how that would damage the air bags, but my experience is with my 97 which may be setup different.

I have had my 02 on the lift without the air suspension switched off. With it turned on and up in the air it lets most of the air out of the system, it is then bottomed out when you drop it back down. It doesn't seem to hurt anything the few times I have done it. The system pumps back up to normal in a few minutes.

From what I have read here it is better to turn it off before lifting.

No because the ride height sensor would interpret the height as being too high and would try to deflate the bags, not inflate them.
