I may have them do straight 3" pipe all the way to the back where it splits with a Y and comes out behind each wheel.

Also, yesterday, I finally got that damn oil filter off after 3-hours and almost giving myself a black eye. The jackass who put it on before me obviously didn't hand tighten it. Name: photo42.jpg

Size: 1.28 MB. I replaced it with the early 7.3 PSD oil filter so I could get an extra quart in there. Next up is the fuel filter, that shouldn't be too difficult.

I also went and bought some new tires and batteries at CostCo. When I bought it, it was running on snow tires that were down to the secondaries, and the batteries were 6 years old. The tires are BFG A/T KO2 and the batteries have 850 CCA each. Name: photo645.jpg

I'm currently looking for a headache rack or bolt in "roll bars", if anyone has any recommendations. I'll probably be ordering an add-a-leaf front kit at the same time. I'm also looking into getting one of those wheel-well fuel tanks from Titan and then a wheel-well tool box from DeeZee, just so I can use up some of that space.

In unrelated news, I bought a kayak yesterday!Name: photo631.jpg

I have the Safety Rack made by BackRack on my truck, which I got from a local shop.
This thing is really sturdy, I throw ladders, walk planks, and lumber on it all the time and it doesn't budge.

You can get them with or without toolbox brackets.

BackRack

Do they make it in just the old steel color? I don't think a black head rack will look too good on mine...

BackRack only makes them in black, but DeeZee makes an aluminum one.

i make mine out of 1 inch square tube.
but i use it to mount the light bar and arrow stick, not as a window protector.
i don't have a picture of the one for the 88, it is buried in the shop until i get the cab on it.
but it looks just like this one on the 02:

I decided to just order one. This is the one I got. Name: photo884.jpg

Size: 322.0 KBI wanted one where I didn't have to wire anything up and I also love the look of it, though it might make mounting my crossbody tool box a pain.

I also ordered to of the DeeZee wheel hump plastic toolboxes to use some of that empty space, because why not? I'm not gonna put anything too valuable in them, just odds and ends.

Oh yeah, I also snapped the tailgate cables that bear some of the weight so I need to replace those as well!

Went ahead and bought a new fuel filter, air filter and tranny filter because I have no idea when the last one was changed on any of them. Also getting the exhaust done and going to go look at headache racks at the shop.

If you slowed down on your trips you would get great mileage. I usually do 55-60 and get over 20 mpg with my diesels

close. that is a Jetstrobe bar. it has since been replaced with a Whelen Justice LED bar, and the Jetstrobe is going on the 04 rack body when it comes back from getting the cab replaced.

I thought add a leaf's in the front were considered dangerous, or is that just front lift blocks?
