Yet Another LOW-MILEAGE TX Barn-Find F250
Friends,
I'm currently in Austin (housesitting) again.
While at the coffee shop this PM, I talked to a security officer, who has just bought a 1988 F250 Diesel XLT that was stored in a barn in Bastrop County, from an estate sale. - It has < 16,000 original miles.
Mr. Powers said that the original owner died in 1993 & "- - - - nobody in the family wanted it, so it was stored away" for 16 years.
(He showed me several photos of the PU "in the barn" & NOW. - It LOOKS a couple of years old, once the accumulated dirt was washed off & 2 decades of junk were disposed of, rather than 28YO.)
And I thought that my "new to me" 1986 F250 6.9 Lariat was "low mileage", with @ 55,000 miles!!!
(I'm always fascinated about how many NICE "barn finds" that there are in South Texas, that are "unwanted" & "unloved".)
yours, satx

roadrash63,
Doesn't look like being outside hurt it much. - Paint job is looking pretty good, too.
Note: NOT one of our FORDs but I talked to a couple at the diner (where I sometimes go for breakfast) a few weeks ago & who pulled a 1936 Dodge doctor's coupe out of the desert, where it had been parked for decades.
They said that after some relatively simple maintenance procedures, a new 6V battery, a new set of tires & buying antique tags, the wife drove it to their summer home in Colorado.
(Mrs. Jameson described the Dodge as: "My new Summer toy.")
