Im asking for my brother. His truck is acting up. I wrote this down on my notepad on my phone with th issues he says it is doing:

1992 f150 5.0 engine

Rev up in park. It does fine.

When driving and give gas to pass it will try to stall or die until you let off gas.

Slowly give gas it will do fine.

Then now it started to wanting to die when driving regularly at normal speeds until you let off gas and ease back throttle it will then catch back up.

It backfired through intake. Was popping.

If ramming throttle to floor it wants to buck but eventually catches up and goes




What could be the issue? Timing? Fuel pump?

 

Check engine light on? check for codes with a scanner and the should narrow it down for you. Could be fuel delivery, TPS, PIP in the dizzy, etc.
