Can we drain Tank using the fuel pump and battery ?
I've got two gallons of water and 20 gallons of gas in my 2000 F-150.
I just replaced the fuel pump a few months ago and dont want to drop
the tank again if I can help it. The filler neck has antitheft screen preventing
siphon hose etc.
If I have to drop the tank I am going to take it somewhere this time
and have a fuel drain plug welded in the bottom. ( suggestions appreciated)
Oh yea.... some one failed to warn me the 4 y.o. grandkid was playing
with the water hose and gas cans etc.
I was thinking someone could advise on an easy fuel hose location
to break loose to get access to the gas stream. I was thinking at the location of the in-line fuel filter. It it didnt work real well I would try
to copy the filter connection to a fabricated drain hose into gas cans etc.
PS I was ready to pour 4 or 5 gallons of ethanol and methanol in the tanks
but did my own experiments in glass jars. The alcohol does mix with the
water but non of the mixture it mixes with the gas. what I could see.

since the water sinks to the bottom, you should be able to remove a couple gallons with the fuel pump. I would remove the fuel filter under the driver seat area and pump into a bucket to see what is coming out........... If I was going to remove 20 gallons, I think I would go thru the filler neck, either the hose area under the fender above the tank, or break out the anti theft door at top of neck. In the end, I would still pour a gallon of ethanol or ethanol/ gas into the tank.......... you can run up to 15% ethanol in the tank and not effect operation, but will cleanout the water.. Some states use 10% in all gas sold ... does yours ?

Thanks for the suggestions. On a 2000 F150 the siphon block is
not in the filler door but there is a a heavy duty fence built into
the filler neck of the main tank. I do not think it could be broken out.
I did some experiments with denatured alcohol which is pure
ethanol with some methanol and mixed with pure gas without
any ethanol in it and only a very small percentage mixes with
the gas. Well actually I first put water in the gas first and then
added the denatured alcohol in a glass jar with carefully measured
amounts. That approach could possibly handle a few ounces in
a 25 gallon tank but in no way can it dispose or "emulsify" large
amounts of water like a cup or a quart etc.

Pull the fuel pump relay from the fuse box under the hood. Identify socket pins for the relay terminals 30 and 87. Short or jumper them together and the pump should run continuously until you remove the connection.
Just make sure you're careful and don't set your self or the truck on fire.
