F250 TCS problem may have just ruined my vacation
Been looking forward to this vacation for over a year. Wife's only chance at some Keys fishing this year. She's had a VERY tough year. We almost cancelled due to weather (the system in the Gulf) but decided last minute last night to go for it.
Fast forward to today. Get on the road and immediately notice the Traction Control System light flickering on and off. I can't turn it off either. Then it shows on the dash I'm in 4x4 LOW, but I'm not. I try switching that to 4x4 HIGH, then to 2WD (which it was in already) - still showing 4x4 LOW, but I can tell I'm not IN it - truck has a very distinct feel to it, especially turning.
Then I've got the cruise on, and all of a sudden it shuts off - like I had tapped the brakes. Won't come back on, and now my acceleration is shot to ****, truck is NOT acting right.
I have a feeling the TCS is screwing up and engaging, thinking it has to apply brakes to one or another of the wheels since it thinks erroneously that it is slipping.
So we decided to turn around and head home - taking the truck to a Ford dealer in an hour - might still be able to salvage the vacation, but we'll see.
Funny thing - last night we got a TON of rain, and when I opened the truck today there was a lot of water in both of the floormats - driver and passenger - maybe some water infiltrated, ran along some wiring, shorted something out?
To top it off, our 11 month old puppy, when we got back home, had 3 bouts of diarrhea and vomited twice in the house - ACK!

PS - the rear sensor ON/OFF button is directly below the TCS button, and it has been acting up for the last few weeks - like turning on the warning beep when I put the truck into reverse, even though there is nothing behind the truck - after 5 seconds it goes off, and then it stays in the OFF lit position and I can't turn it back on.
Wiring issues at the whole panel maybe?
