Steel Fuel Line from DC

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue...

Got the copper plated steel fuel line kit to run between the tank and the flexible fuel line at the Carb. What they supply is 1/4" line and 2 Ford compression nuts. It wasn't until I looked in the service manual that I realized that it needed flared ends with tube nuts, and should be 5/16" line. Short of it is, the line DC says should work, in fact doesn't at all.
Trying to get a hold of their parts manager to sort this out, but am surprised it sounds like I'm the first person to have this issue...

My fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump is 5/16", and from the fuel pump to the carb is 1/4". The stock fuel pump suction will take either 1/8" NPT or 5/16" compression fitting nut.

Napa has AGS copper nickel that I used for my F5-226. No rust flares nice ... One shot at bending though

DC parts dept update

Got a call back from the DC parts department about this today. All of their steel fuel line is 1/4" and don't know why their catalogue says it would fit early F series trucks. Also couldn't say when they would update the information on their site or catalogue, so in the mean time buyer beware. Nor did DC want to make things right about this, just sorry we don't know why this mistake was made and that was it. I hate it when people who produce quality parts have poor customer service, especially when we try to help them fix mistakes so it doesn't happen to others.

Do us a favor; go to their website, and locate this item. You can post a review of it, and there you can tell the world how wrong this part is, and how you were treated. If DC has a Facebook page, hit them there, too. Maybe it will get their attention??

Dennis Carpenter doesn't post reviews of their products. I know this first hand. Seems they don't like constructive criticism. Must be counter to their business model.

IMHO, despite their claims, DC isn't the end all/be all. Some things are better than others but the bulk is the same as the majority, only more expensive.
