At least you do not have to mow ALL the snow, just shovel a path...where as ALL the grass needs cut. Damn heat.

As long as we don't get any liquid sunshine we shouldn't have to mow the weeds.

Turn key on and make shure oil light comes on ,then make shure it goes out when cranking. If all is good fire it up. I don't care for eather it's to hard on things and washes what little oil you have on the cylinder walls . Use a cup to pour gas down the carb not a full can

I'm with you Dan. In cold weather you can always wear more clothes.

All I did before firing the 5.0L in the '87 was to pull the distributor, prime the oil pump with a drill, stab the distributor back in, pull the coil connections, cycle the fuel pump a couple times to bring the fuel pressure up, reconnect the coil, and go for broke. With a carb, you'd have to crank the engine a few times to get the fuel up to the carb.

If it's a fresh build, then you want to follow a break in procedure. That's foreign territory for me so maybe Alan will chime in when he gets back.

Thanks for the words about my mother.

Alan hang in there.
What color was that Bronco again?

Any updates on Mom?

Evening all,

So i planned on soldering in the wiring harness i pulled from the junkyard into the engine bay. The one i found was near perfect and the one on the truck was just hanging on by a thread.

The rub is that i have one extra wire on my donor harness than on my original (and im talking about at the firewall.

The donor harness has a larger gauge Black with Redish stripe wire that does not correspond to anything in my original harness. All the other colors match up. The wire ends in a fusible link flowing onto an eyelet with the large gauge black w/ yellow stripe wire that attached to the starter solenoid. Basically, im just wondering what this thing is for as my original harness does not have it.

From my diagram is supposed to go to the alternator regulator but in my case the donor goes all the way to the firewall.

any help would be great and i will try to tag up some pictures. This is the last thing before cranking her up for the first time.

evening all.. yep it was a bit warm today.. i was going to the shop and got halfway up the long hill and the flat-bump just quit!!!...... i was sad because my cell phone was in the s10..so i had to walk 1 1/2 miles to the shop (in the blazing heat) to get the s10 and a few parts.. dang durasparks, my fault i guess for forgetting i used my extra module i always carry on someone else's truck..when i got back and put a module in it and it fired right up.. .. i was thinking of putting the points back in it.. but i think i will just change it over to a GM 4 prong module.. i have had a lot better luck with them than the cheap no-good aftermarket modules for the duraspark systems

Morning all! Hopefully going to get something done on a dent this weekend!

Would like to see Bullet done, or Bandit down at Alan's awaiting his new c6, but been hard with no tow vehicle that is street legal lol

Closing on the home in Ozark looks to be July 19th. Hope all goes well in the meantime

Congratulations Jeff! I got nothing but pool maintenance and swimming done last night, tonight is hopefully finishing up the Flex. Rich, best of luck on your mom's insurance managed health issues.

RC, the neighbor seems to be still borrowing my trailer (he does treat it well , maintenance, bearings needed pressure wash, painted chipped wheels etc). So if you have a trailer, or you can still use mine
