Will, there's been a bunch of post machine shop drag-*** going on with all manner of Life junk obstacles getting in the way. You should hear Thomas threatening me with his "what we're going to do if it ain't ready..." scenarios. At any rate, last bit of block cleaning & paint got done this weekend. Its going back on the stand today.
Im glad to see this thing moving! I do not have a ring file. Ive heard you can do it by hand with a ******* file but Im not too sure. How tight are your rings?
Don't know. Haven't dropped one in the hole square yet. Considering whipping up a slotted table holding either my die grinder & a disc or my Dremel done the same. I've got some old rings to practice with. I really hate trying to do this with a flat file on 16 rings as much as I'd hate dropping the coin on a purpose made unit. No body has one for rent.
Going out for the weekend, so I get top stew over it till I get back.
I think a table with a way to clamp down the dremel and a slit cut in it for the blade would work out great. Even then, if these are factory replacement rings, you may not have to file them........or did you purchase file fit rings?
