95 Ford F-150 wont turnover

I have a 95 Ford F-150 and had problems the last couple of months with it not starting but got that fixed, now it wont even turn over. When I turn the key everything comes on so its not a battery problem and it just clicks. What should I check next?

There is a unit on the side of the passanger fender that can go bad. Other then that how do your battery cables look? Mine did exactly what you were saying, the cables where rotted and didn't allow for enough power to get transfered to the starter.

I would first suspect that wire that goes from the fender mounted solenoid down to the solenoid on top of the starter.

Exactly right and to check for a bad cable takes a couple of seconds.

The positive battery cable connects to the starter relay. Take one side from your jumper cables and connect it to the positive battery post & the other end to the starter relay. Will it start now?

If it still wont start connect the jumper to the negative battery post & the other end to any handy place on the engine block. Does it start now??

The cables on my 87 looked fine when it would'nt start, I found out the negative cable was shot by doing this quick & simple test

Can't tell anything by "looking" at a cable.

For that matter even if the dash lights up the battery can be bad. How old is it? It's very common for them to fail in such a way as to provide enough juice for low current draw items like the dash lights or maybe a radio though choke when tasked to perform the duties of providing enough current for the starter, remember it's something like 200 amperes or more.

Do the test mentioned above. Ford decided to be idiots and out a flag post half way through the negative cable. The cable is exposed to the elements and rots easily.
