Any way to open the back doors from the inside

I have a 2001 triton not that the engine size matters to this question .

Ive been sleeping in my excursion alot and have been enjoying it, i find exiting out the back doors is much easier but i have no way to open them from a shut position. i do see a cover of a small slotted whole and think it might be part to future customizing but havent found such a mod. so does anyone know how i can open my back doors from the inside?

Didn't find what I was looking for. I need some way to unlock the window so I can lift it then open the barn doors

I was camping this weekend and I sleep in mine a lot as well. I was actually thinking the exact same thing.

It's all good. I'll probably mod it myself somehow

Liam, welcome to FTE!

If you do mod the doors somehow, please take pictures and show us how you did it!

And not that it matters, but telling us you have a Triton still doesn't tell us the engine size, since it could be a 5.4L V8 or a 6.8L V10.

Check out the tech folder (Read First sticky thread) for more mods for your Ex. And don't be shy, post up and we will help you spend your money on your rig!

Maybe you could buy a universal heavy duty door lock accuator from Amazon and wire a switch inside or on a remote to open the latch. I can't tell you how, or if that would work as I'm still looking for my first excursion, but it's just a thought.

. It's a v10 . Im thinking of putting a rod through a small hole and holding with pins or nuts. Kind of like on a door for walk in freezer.
