Im not sure if they were a dealer option or aftermarket. Personally, I do like them, I like the look and all, but every truck I have ever owned, Ford Chevy and what have you, they all eventually cause leaks and rust. If you decide to use them, and I live in a state with seasons which are all very different, I think every few years I would probably unbolt it, and re-apply some sort of silicone or something to keep the water out.

I believe they are aftermarket, but I guess it could be dealer installed if they offer accessories as some dealers do. A 94 Bronco I had had one on it when I got it and I never had any problems with it, other than maybe catching an occasional low hanging limb. I did help shade the interior when the sun was high in the sky.

aftermarket, not factory. i have never seen one dealer installed, but that does not mean some dealers did not install them. if put on properly, they will last forever. i put mine on in 88. used silicone to seal the boltholes when installed, and used stainless bolts.
the floor and rocker panels rotted and fell off the truck, but the visor is still up there and never leaked.

X2. I've been in a few trucks with them, and I find them annoying as they are always partially in my vision. I just thought people installed them to get a big rig look, like stacks. Lol

You could get the dealer to install them, but it's not something they came from the factory with. I always liked the look of the old, more square body trucks like these, with a visor. When they changed body styles in 97, I didn't much care for them.
I don't find that the visor in my truck blocks my vision, but it does serve as a good block for snow in the winter so I don't have to scrape so much off the windshield.
