KO, drilling hole is a good trick for helping system remove air lock. Some T-stats have them. In Tmurph's case, at this time, he has no T-stat installed.

Missed that part. If Tmurph removed the thermostat because it was gummed up, then the rest of the cooling system is probably in a similar condition. I have had some success with backflushing with water or even using compressed air. Good luck.

I pulled all the plugs (from both sides, not just the side that's leaking) and none were wet or looked like they had coolant on them. Turning it over nothing came out of the spark plugs holes but it still created a lot of pressure in the lines. However nothing leaked out of the block this time unless it's actually running. When running usually after 30 seconds or so is when it starts leaking. I'll have to check autozone or something to see if they have any tools I can rent. And I did remove the thermostats because it was all gummed up and nasty looking, however it ran fine before that but I initially took it all apart due to all the years of grim and caked on burnt oil in the heads that was built up. You could literally scrape it with a spoon
