My 16 screw coyote with only 1200 miles averaged 11.6 towing my 8k travel trailer last weekend. I couldn't believe as my ecos would do like 6-7

The Suburbans had 454 4V engines, and it was a good thing they could be filled with gas at the site because in the winter I seriously doubt they could have made it round trip! Probably got about 8-10MPG at best!!
Cool, I was wondering if that was the significance behind your username!

The denser air in the wintertime also changes the air/fuel mixture, giving a slight increase in the amount of air for combustion. I think the biggest thing is the warm up, as it will take longer in winter, and the oil will be thicker for that time.

Somebody somewhere has probably calculated all the factors...

Also, hot weather = windows open or air conditioning = reduced fuel economy.

I should have taken a picture a few months ago. We stayed in Bear Valley at about 7,000 feet elevation. We filled the tank, reset the meter, and headed down hill. We were only doing about 50 MPH, because hey, it's a mountain road. However, for the first 10 miles the meter was showing 99 MPG. It wasn't until we started doing some little uphills that the MPG came down to something a little more sane like ... 45 MPG....

Beautiful truck. I think the 157" WB looks better on the newer trucks than the old body style.

East Coast Twin: 16 Lariat SuperCrew, 3.5, RR, 157.

Hey Minuteman, looks like in a few days I'll have the "east coast" version of your truck! Been looking forward to this truck for a long time, good to see you're happy with yours!
