Darn. New wheels don't fit dent rotor hub.

Well the day came when I'm ready to put my new wheel and tires on. They've been here with tires mounted for months. I've been getting the truck back together since getting it back from the paint shop. I bought Torq Thrust VN309's like the ones user Randle has. My truck has been converted to disc in front with 75 Dent parts. The hub on the rotor is about 3/16" bigger than the hole in the wheel. Just wondering what my options are? Possible to have the hubs turned down at a machine shop? Possible to buy different hubs to fit the wheels?

The wheels on these old trucks are lug-centric as opposed to more modern vehicles that are hub-centric.

It won't hurt anything to press the wheel studs out of the rotors and have a machine shop turn the O.D. of the hubs down to the appropriate amount to fit the center hole of your wheels.

I've seen a pair of these rotors that had the hubs turned down and the lug pattern redrilled from a 5 x5.5" lug pattern to a 5 x 4.5" lug pattern.

Eventually, I plan to do the same when I install the '81 Bullnose 'Torino' flange 9-inch rear end with Explorer rear discs added, since the Explorer rear rotors have a 5 x 4.5" lug pattern --this will also mean having a lot more wheel choices than what's available for a 5 x 5.5" lug pattern.

Dentside 5-lug 5.5" pattern front rotors with the hubs turned down and the lug pattern changed to a 4.5" pattern.

Well I found a small local machine shop and he's going to turn them down tomorrow for me. He has to push the studs out. $100 cash. Not too bad.

I hate it they didn't fit, but I'm proud you got it worked out. I think you will really like them.
