Lowering an F150 4x2

Now before you choke on your beer, understand that I am old and have some difficulty getting in and out of my new to me 2015 F150. I would like to lower my truck 2 inches in front and three in back. I am installing running boards soon and that will help but the truck is still just a bit high for myself and wife. I would like to hear from anyone that has used a quality lowering kit and what you think of the results. I am concerned about ride, tire rub and stability.
Thanks.

Send a PM to Go-on3. He's doing a custom build that includes lowering a new F-150. Probably has some good sources.

I really like mildly lowered trucks. For my needs, I could use a few inches lower on a 4x4. A few years ago, at the SEMA show, I saw a beautiful F350 Crew Cab long bed dually that had been lowered for towing a race trailer. To my eyes it was the most beautiful truck in the show. I think it was a 4x4 too.

I don't have any resources for you, but just wanted to add some encouragement.

Installed a nice set of Luverne running boards. Basically problem solved. I still may lower the truck 2 inches in front and 3 inches in the rear but for now I'll use it as is. I'll wait until someone makes a nice kit that my local mechanic can install without jacking the suspension.

I'll be glad to help in any way I can. I'm not on here as often as I would like but here's my contact info and I'll be happy to give you my honest opinion on what brands have worked best for me and I'll give you a list of great people to buy from. I'm literally on my 3rd suspension kit, 4th air bag (helper kit) on my 15' truck and learned allot over the years with my other truck builds. ..

Lowered 4x4 look amazing ! From my experience from lowering my 4wd lincoln truck it's best not to lower front anymore than 3" because of the cv angles . The rear is easy and you can keep leafsprings over the axil by just removing the 4x4 block ,shackles, and shorter shocks. Huge benefit for towing ")

I too want to lower my 2016 F150 2x4. Is there a good kit that does not require the removal of the spindles and/or A arms? Ideally, I would like to change out the front springs and flip the rear axle. 2-3" in front and 3-4" in the rear would be great. When installing this kit will I also need to change the shocks. Any opinions and help will be greatly appreciated. Jag ⤵️

It's interesting how different the country folk and city folk see things. If you asked about lowering a truck around here, people would look at you like you are from another planet. Besides being impractical (nobody here wants to reduce ground clearance for snow and off-road), I don't know anyone who thinks that a lowered truck looks nice. I don't even know anyone who owns a 2WD truck, and almost everyone around here owns a pickup.

How do you feel that it improves towing? I've done a ton of heavy towing behind pickups (10,000 pounds plus, for farm use), and never thought "I wish this truck was lower". What am I missing? Nice boat, BTW

Thanks.

Don't some places sell electric running boards that drop down for entering/exiting the truck? I thought I recalled seeing that somewhere.

I've seen the electric running boards on EBay for $500 and up. Jag
