As mentioned in another thread. Just picked up a 93 F250 w/460. Anyway, gear selection indicator is stuck over to the left and does not move when I put it in drive, or any gear. Simple fix? What might have broke or been disconnected?
The indicator is run by a small cable that goes under the steering column on the left, and up on the right. The end of the cable has a loop that goes over a stud that moves with the shifter.
Take off the lower dash panel below the steering column and you will see it.
The Bowden cable from the steering column to the gauge is either broken or disconnected at the column.
Simple to reattach to the column once you get the plastic collar off the column. Search for other threads on how to do that; my method is fresh, unrefined, and way too complicated.
