Post Re-Introduction + BUILD THREAD for my 2013 FX2

Hey fella's, I just want to introduce myself to this community. While I am not new to FTE, I am coming over from the dark side

I joined FTE in the "6.0 SuperDuty" community nearly 5 years ago now & I will miss them. I am confident the F150 community will be just as awesome, hell if we weren't passionate about our vehicles, we wouldn't be here

My story, after buying a stock 2006 F250 Diesel in 2011, I joined FTE & ended up spending over $20k building my F250 into a monster (I used to make decent money). Then in Jan 2014 my life changed & I decided to pursue the career I always wanted & to pickup the financial slack, my lovely wife started College too. For 7 months now I have had that career I always wanted, but suffered a major cut in pay & with the wife still in college, were constantly making financial changes.

About 2 years ago we sold our 5th-Wheel, with both of us in school we didn't have the time or the cash to use it anyway. Well now I've realized I don't need that big Diesel anymore, since I cant use it for what it was designed for (pulling) & lets face it, maintence on a Diesel is very costly, plus I can't hardly remember the last time I needed 4x4 living down here now, so I decided to sell it & get a newer more practical truck.

The cool thing is, I sold it within 3 days & was able to go from a 2006 to a 2013 for not alot of cash....by going from a F250 to a F150, a 4wd to a 2wd & a Diesel to a Gas, made that possible. I do love my new F150 but it will never be the monster the F250 was. I am a car guy & have never been able to leave my vehicle stock, so I will modify this F150, but the build will be mild in comparison to some of my previous build's.....Stay tuned

Gone, but NOT forgotten, the Truck that made me "King-bRanch"

Nice looking truck! The FX2/FX4's are the best looking trim levels on an F150.

Congrats on your new truck!

Congrats on the new truck! Looks like you did some awesome work to the King Ranch Super Duty so I can't wait to see what you have planned for the '150! I recently joined this forum also after being in a 2006 '150 5-speed for many years. I'll miss that one but I've got some planned upgrades in store for my new 2012 4x4 "Big Red Beast"
My avatar, if you can make it out, is both trucks sitting together

Nice truck, man! I too went from a highly mod'ed diesel to my F150 Limited. I'm extremely happy with the deal, other than I kinda expected a little better mileage. A lot of it's my own fault, because I drive this one like I drove my diesel -- A *bit* heavy footed.

And I do occasionally miss the 1000 ft-lbs of torque...

Welcome to the F-150 side! I'm sure you remember my Amarillo from the 6.0 forum! Went to a 13 Limited and wouldn't go back. :P

Thanks for all the welcome's everyone

The FX series is by far my favorite too, especially with this appearance PKG & since I was picky on the color (Ruby-Red or Charcoal) it made finding a truck difficult. I do like the Grill in the Platinum, but not into all the chrome included w/that Pkg. I also really love a Limited (white in color, is my choice for this Pkg) the painted Grill surrounds & of course those Wheel's are killer.

I have already started ordering parts & messing with my FX2

Yep, that would be me!

I switched mostly for the fact that I didn't really need a heavy duty truck anymore. When I bought my 6.0 the Ecoboost trucks were new and still pricey. After not really hauling any crazy loads for a long time and dealing with the diesel through multiple winters along with trying to drive and park an F-250 downtown I just got tired of it. I wanted some luxury in a daily driver, and after I got the girlfriend a 13 Limited Flex I was tired of being jealous of her daily. I went with the Limited because I loved the red interior along with the fact they came with 3.73's, Ecoboost, power steps, the special interior, and they have every option available.

My Emblems were completely covered in Plasti-Dip, when I bought it & IMO looked like huge black blobs, so
I carefully removed the Plasti-Dip from the trim & script only, essentially changing the blue to black.
I think they came out nice
