92 f250 351 trasmission OSS

First time posting, long time lurker lol. So i ended up buying a 92 f250 with a 351.. when i got it was high idling and etc.. so i worked the issue and solved TPS was bad.. took it for a test spin and felt like i it had no power and wasnt shifting.. sooo.. after crawling around i noticed a sensor not hooked up.. simple enough hook it up.. now comes the issue.. i have one plug that isnt hooked up and it doesnt fit the sensor.. went and bought the OSS connector and now im at a lost to the next step. thanks

heres the new connector

only unconnected plug

You should have a E4OD transmission. And in 1992 the E4OD transmission does not have a OSS (Output Shaft speed Sensor).
The only sensor on the transmission is the TR sensor that some call the MLPS.

I have no idea what transmission you have from that photo.
But it does not look like any 1992 F-series transmission.

Can you post more pictures of the transmission? Especially the pan. How many bolts are on the pan? Like it was mentioned, an F-250 should only have an E4OD or a C6, neither of which should have an output speed sensor. The earlier E4ODs had a speed sensor on the tailshaft housing with the speedometer cable, but what you have is not that.

Edit: It looks like someone put a 4R70W into your truck. The 4R70W was never put behind the 351, and the 4R70W wasn't even offered in the trucks until '94.

Unfortunately this leaves you with 3 options:
A: Remove the 4R70W and replace it with the E4OD that's supposed to be in there
B: Convert your entire truck's engine harness over to the 94-95 F-150 5.0 4R70W harness (You will need to convert your truck to mass-air to do this):
C: Keep the 4R70W and control it with an aftermarket transmission controller.

I remember a recent post by MarkKovalsky about using the newer trans with an OSS. I believe he said it will work fine with the e4od computer and the OSS unhooked.

Yes it will. If the computer doesn't know the sensor is there it doesn't matter if it isn't plugged into anything.

No, it will not work. There are no E4ODs with an OSS. Only 4R100s, and there are no 4R100s that will bolt to a 351.

The only transmission with an OSS that will bolt to a 351 is a 4R70W, and that is not the right transmission for this truck.

Good point. I was thinking of 4R100 to E4OD, and that will work, but you're right, there were no 4R100s that had a small block bolt pattern. This has to be a 4R70W. The computer in the truck won't know how to control a 4R70W even if you find a way to connect the OSS.

Read post #5 again. You cannot use this transmission without doing serious rewiring of the entire truck.

No, it is not. Ford never made this combination, so you would have to create your own computer. There isn't one in the world that will run a 5.8L/4R70W.

How about an aftermarket stand alone controller and a computer for a manual tarn struck?
Edit: that was an option in post #5
