4 whole days - no code!! But battery light blinks occasionally
04 Excursion,
So I had the 0401, 0404,0405 EGR codes for the last 2 years... I cleaned the egr multiple times, replaced it twice, orielly told me they should be giving me my money back and telling me to go elsewhere.
So I found some posts on the IAT2 sensor, took that out, it too was caked full like the egr. I cleaned that, the truck started and ran rough for a few minutes, took it for a test drive no codes. Codes came back next day, 3 days later it just went away, hasn't come back yet.
But the battery light still blinks. I've checked cables, look for wear on the spots I read about on the boards. Nothing clears it up completely. Thoughts?

I'd pull the alternator and get it bench tested. It sure sounds like it's on its way out. If it is shot, let's just say that I know a guy, lol.
Seriously, though, the alternator typical life span on our trucks is in the 120 - 160,000 range. If you are getting close to that or even beyond and your alternator tests out good, there may actually be logic in proactively replacing it before it causes your FICM to start having issues. The smallest alternator we carry puts out at idle what the factory unit does at it's peak! The stock unit is the same part number from a Ford Fusion sedan.

Then this

Then clean your grounding cables, test the batteries and alternator and then buy the alternator mentioned along with adding the cables required....
