It is the original and new for 1954 breathable woven nylon Ford used. I checked their catalog yesterday. They only have 2", 3" and 5" foam.

What do you mean "you chickened out?"

I bought the Mid Fifty original style wire harness and installed it 17 years ago with my first repaint. It is cloth covered but has rubber cover underneath.

Hey Abe,
Your truck looks fantastic! If that's the same truck that was carrying the soccer team in that old pic - wow!

I've got the same main seal leaking problem. I'm curious how much it's running to fix that problem & how involved is it?

Looking good in PA!

Yup, same truck
The guy quoted me around $400 for pulling engine, putting new clutch in, degreasing engine and painting engine.

Nice progress Abe !

I too painted my oak bed boards, oil base black thinned with some boiled linseed and turpentine. I plan on giving it a light sand this summer and then using the oil and turps to give it a waterproof, renewable finish.Nice looking truck; I thought of using Meadow Green on mine, but opted at the last minute for the original Sheridan Blue.

\looks like you are almost road ready !

Seat came out good. Ive read that 1" is better. Love the way the bed came out. My 56 was originally meadow green, and I am torn between going that route, or other. Its really tempting to go with the green.....

The contrast of that seat against your truck color looks fantastic! I like the painted boards too!
