Toyota Power Steering Install (1956 F100)

Article on Toyota box install: Toyota Steering Box Swap For 1948-1960 Trucks - Ford-Trucks.com It is somewhat outdated but most of the info is good. Note: you do not need the extended drag link unless you plan to move the axle forward with new springs. i.e. Mid Fifty's down and forward springs.

Funny you mention the drag link. I do have the down and forward springs from mid fifty and after installing everything, sort of freaked out that the drag link is too long. I am waiting to decide if it's too long or not until I have it back on the ground with the weight of the motor back on it. But right now, with the wheels straight, it seems too long while the wheels are up in the air.

Your springs look old, are you sure you have the down and forward springs? The spring centerbolt on the D&F springs will be ~ 1 1/4" further forward than stock. Call MF and ask for the measurements. The weight on the front end will also make a difference, the D&F springs will be nearly flat.
