I bought a new tinted windshield and rubber seal from LMC. My glass shop came out and installed it (not for free tho), and come to find out the glass was way too small at the corners, 3/4" gap at the rubber. So I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and have them measure, cut and install a new one. I think it's like tightening spokes on a wheel - best left to experts.

I took the Vintage Glass windshield & rear glass that was too large and not shaped correctly to my local glass company and using my original glass ground the windshield down and cut me a new laminated rear glass for a little more that the shipping back to VG would have been. $74 including tax!
I may be able to trace my original items on paper to get a good pattern.

When I replied to Ball's Rod and customs about my 52 front & rear glass I bought from them was not the same size as the original in my truck here is what they replied:
CnC cuts from OE patterns scanned into the Computer – nothing to do w/ Operator.
The only time deviation occurs is when customer request flush mount or pow wins.
Your glass guy should have known to customize the glass for your non-OE needs.

Vintage Glass & BALL's Power Windows

Thanks for the reply.
If All glass is cut on CnC to OE – original specifications. VG C-S you better check your machine or the operator!
Rear glass was nearly ½” too tall.
Front glass (windshield) was too large and not symmetrical with the original glass.
My local glass company cut the windshield down and provided a new laminated rear glass for not more than the shipping back to you would have been
***Looks like they are trying to tell me my original glass was not original***
LAST TIME I WILL DEAL WITH THEM!

Is that what passes as customer service these days: "It's not our fault"?

Wow. Just...wow.

You got me I just wish they would speak my language.
It is just BS telling me my old windows were not OEM since I have two 52 trucks to check the size with.

We should measure glass that works/fits right and have the specs handy, for reference. Not necessarily all the curves/corners, but the width and height, so a piece ordered can be quickly checked before wasting the time trying to jam it in.

It will be real easy to measure my front and rear window glass as to length and width but it would be nice to have a few others to confirm the measurements with mine. I've got mine on the table at home.

The windshield that was supplied by Ball's Rod & Custom, the top curve had a bump out about 1/3rd from one end and did not confirm to the regular shape.

The windshield on my 52 measures:
15" high in the center of the windshield
width half way down from the top is 44 1/2"
widest width at the bottom is 45"
The rear glass measures:
9 1/2" high in the center
43" widest width at the bottom

Height and width figures sure look solid as far as figures go.

The glass I bought online for the 51 wasnt even close, windshield and rear window were both too tall. I was able to get the windshield shaved since that was laminate, but the rear glass was tempered so I have to make a template and had it made locally.
I havent installed my side glass yet, hoping that is ok otherwise I blew a lot of money for nothing.

Dave,
Is your side glass one piece or with a vent?

I am using the vent windows on this one, so hoping they will be ok.
The company I bought the glass from says they have shipped many of the kits and I was the first to say there was a problem? Who knows, but I also bought my 1937 Buick glass from them and it fit fine.
Truck #1 the top is chopped and losing the vent windows so I will be making patterns for those pieces of glass.
