Cab Mounts - 64 F350

I was placing an order at DC and decided to buy a set of cab mounts while i was at it. I took the cab off this weekend, and the front mounts look different than that I got in the new kit. The ones on the front look like shoes and fit around a "U" shape bracket... the new ones I got look like round pucks... did I get the right kit? It definitely didn't look like the 65-66 one.

It seems like the old "U" shaped ones cradled the cab mount on the cab and kept it in place, the new puck will just sit below it.

Original Pad

New Pad Kit I bought

Just checking to make sure these will work. Thanks

No one makes the correct kit for the F350's. The Kit Carpenter sells can work but is not correct.

Hmm, Okay. Well it is what it is I guess. Thanks

Throughout this build it seems the 350's have always been the red headed stepchild... probably because not as common as 100's and 250's

I wonder if I should remove the U shaped metal piece that holds the old mount pad in place... don't want a catch for water to sit

Cory, not long ago someone on FTE was looking for the same mounts I believe. He regularly delivered to a company that did things with rubber. With his sample they lazer or water jet, some how, cut him two new mounts for $50.00. Maybe he'll pipe in on it

Richard,
That isn't too bad... I'd definitely be interested in getting the correct ones for that amount. Hopefully he sees this thread and mentions it. Thanks for the tip Capt'n!

PM sent! If it works... the company should think about making a couple extra sets... me and Keith can't be the only ones needing a set!

Sorry I never posted the finished product, I was working on getting the cab back on so I could get my motor all fit and put back together, The ones they water jet cut were great, and fit perfect, reasonably priced and only took a week or so to manufacture. I'm going to rely on you Cory to post pics of the mounts should you decide to go that direction . And if you need anything just shoot me an email.

I will give the company a call tonight as well as a place here in CT. I am thinking maybe I can send them mine and have them make a duplicate. I will get pictures of whoever I decide to go with on the mounts.

There is a part number on my original ones, although internet search turned up no results

This is the ID engineering number, not the part number. No part numbers marked on parts after 1956.

I love blanket statements because they are so easy to disprove if wanted. All you need is one example to the contrary.

This doesn't change the fact that the number marked on the cab support absorbor is an ID number, not a part number.

You found a brake shoe lining w/a part number, how many other parts from 1956 thru today can you find with part numbers marked on them?
