Electrical connector on rear tank. Removeable???

Trying to figure out why my rear tank reads way past full. I'm aware that there is an open circuit on the yellow wire. I've traced it all the way to either the sender or the connection to the tank. Don't want to drop the tank yet. Is there a way to take off the black plastic connector on the rear tank, or is it fused to the housing? Doesn't look like there's any clips holding it on but I've read of guys taking that connector off to bend the pins slightly for better contact. Please help wanna take care of this issue asap.

rear tank, do you have dual tanks, or aft axle mounted single tank?

Here is a picture of the connector.

It is removable. It has three clip points that can be a bit of a pain to get loose, but it does come off. Both tanks use the same connector. The connector and socket are going to probably be full of old anti-corrosion gel, so you might want to clean that out and put something like dielectric grease in there to keep moisture out.

You might go ahead and pull the whole sending unit and pump assembly and check the connections on the unit itself. There are four different wires with mini spade terminal connections; if those come loose, you'll have issues.

I just fixed it on my 96 last weekend, the wire going to the sending unit on mine was broken somewhere,I ran a new wire from the tank selector switch to the fuel pump plug in.

Mine was reading way past f all the time.

NO it is NOT Removable on your 1995 F150, there is not a plug at the top of the fuel hanger.
It has about a two foot pigtail. At the pigtail plug you can try grounding the fuel gauge wire to see if the gauge drops below empty. If it does the then the sending unit in the tank is bad.
